  NEWSLETTER September 2010

With our website celebrating its first year anniversary, it has been interesting as well as educational to realize that people around the world can access City Welding services and expertise through the World Wide Web. We continue to improve our site and welcome any comments.

As reported in our previous Newsletters, there have been many changes in the last year and we are pleased to report on those changes.

The 14’ by 14’ by 42’ engineered Paint Booth is finally fully operational. As for the 16’ by 11’ by 44’ Air Blast Booth, it is almost completed and we anticipate it being commissioned the week of September 20. As of October 1, our Painting & Sandblasting Department will be fully operational.

Our Centralized Gas System in the main shop is also operational.  The system is more efficient and safer as our employees now do not have to change cylinders which are required to be stored outside.

With regard to our Office Renovations, a building permit application was submitted to the City of Greater Sudbury September 13, 2010. We hope to have the proposed renovations and expansion completed by Christmas. Hopefully we can get the City on side with our proposed plans as we anticipate creating 15 to 20 new positions in the next 9 to 12 months.

New Addition to our Team

Last but not lease, we would like to welcome Phil St. Jean back as a Supervisor/Welder-Fitter. After a brief stint in the mines and with Hite Services, Phil has returned and brings his vast knowledge and experience to our Repair & Design Department. Welcome back Phil.

Also, we have promoted Robert (Bob) Pitre from Welder / Fitter to the position of Q.A. Manager. Bob can be reached at (705)566-3033 Ext. 211 or by email at bob@cityweldingsudbury.ca.

It has been trying times with the Vale Inco strike and last years economic downturn but we have managed to continue to grow and improve our processes. We thank our clients for their continued patronage and we look forward to your continued business.

Sincerely,

Georges Brouillette
President
